Best of Rappahannock, Sept. 27
Charlie Tompkins and friends; Terry Waggener and Vincent Day; and Lorraine Duisit and Tom Espanola, all local musicians, will be featured in a live production sponsored by the Rappahannock Association or The Arts and the Community. The performance will be at the Gay Street Theater, Saturday, September 27, starting at 8:00. Ticket prices are $4, $5, and $6.
Artists’ Forum Sept. 20
Expanding Markets For Artists and Craftspeople, a panel discussion sponsored by the Artists’ Forum of the Rappahannock Association For the Arts and the Community will be held Saturday, September 20 at Blackwater Homestead. The discussion will begin at 5:00 p.m., break for a potluck dinner at 7:00; and end at 10:00. Panelists will be Cynthia Schaal of the VCA, Cindy Kelly of the Maryland Arts Council, Frank D’Serio of Corporate Arts Services, and Wretha Hanson of the Franz Bader Gallery.
The movies at Gay Street
The Best of Times is the story of two ex-jocks who spend hours rehashing the Big Game in which one of them made a mistake that lost the game and has haunted him ever since. This movie is about their decision to re-live the not-so-glorious moment, with comic results. ' With Robin Williams and Kurt Russell. Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Gay Street Theater. ;
Workshop planned
The Conyers House in Slate Mills is sponsoring a seminar for innkeepers (or would-be innkeepers) this Saturday, September 13. It will begin at 10 a.m. and will include lunch.
