Franklin Butler
E. Franklin Butler, 63, of Culpeper, died Thursday, September 4 . at University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. Mr. Butler was a native and lifetime resident of Culpeper County. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Highways. Mr. Butler was a member of Mt. Lebanon Church in Rappahannock County and American Legion Post No. 330.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Hume Butler of Culpeper; two daughters, Brenda B. Mills and Trudy B. DeJamette, both of Culpeper; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at Clore Funeral Home Chapel, Culpeper on Sunday, September 7 with the Rev. John Warren of Boston officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Harry Mills, Harry Carpenter, A. W. Mills, John Kelley, Fulton Lucas, Charles Bennett, Earl Mills and Mac Brown.

Wilton F. Brown
Wilton Floyd Brown, 78, of Culpeper, died Friday, September 5 at Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville. Mr. Brown was a native of Rappahannock County and a retired employee of the Virginia Department of Highways.
He is survived by his wife, Lina Catherine Beahm Brown; a brother, William H. Brown of Petersburg; and a sister, Mrs. John Dodson of Culpeper.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 7 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper, with the Rev. Greg Brotzman officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
