William R. Mills
William Roy Mills, 75, a retired Rixeyville farmer, died Nov. 10 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
A lifelong Rappahannock resident, Mr. Mills was the son of the late William Harrison Mills and Annie Virginia Sours Mills. He was a member of the Amissville Ruritan Club and an honorary member of the Amissville Fire Department and Amissville Rescue Squad.
He is survived by his wife Dandy Blackwell Mills of Rixeyville, three brothers, Charles A. Mills of Warrenton, Linwood D. Mills of Marshall and Harry L. Mills of Culpeper, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was conducted Nov. 12 at the Forest Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Sidney Rodriguez. Interment was at the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were George Kidwell, Paul Poling, Nelson Burner, Charlie Mills, Charlie Priest, Vernon Jenkins, Elmer Jenkins and Bobby Carter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Amissville Rescue Squad.
Mrs. Hackley
Elizabeth King Hackley, 82, died Nov. 11 at her residence in Culpeper. Mrs. Hackley was a native of Amissville and a homemaker.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary Herbert of Washington, D. C., Lou Pendleton of Strasburg, Lena Carson of Culpeper and Catherine Warner of Culpeper, two sisters, Jannie French of Warrenton and Mary Woods of Falls Church, a brother Edward King of Amissville, 11 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
A chapel service was conducted Nov. 15 at the W. C. Thompson Funeral Home, Culpeper, by Rev. J. A. Holmes of Lignum. ;nterment was at the family section of Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery, Reva.
Bessie C. Atkins
Bessie Clara Atkins, 95, of Culpeper, died Nov. 1? at Culpeper Health Care Center. Mrs. Atkins was a native of Rappahannock County.
Her husband Charles E. Atkins predeceased her.
She is survived by three sisters, Annie Winterhaver of Front Royal, Virginia Cole o: Purcellville and Emma Sisk of Arlington, and a number of nieces aid nephews, among whom is Charles R. Shaw of Culpeper.
A gravesice service was conducted Nov. I1" in Arlington National Cemetery.
