It was also about this time that the Rectory, a brick house on Mt. Salem Avenue, was constructed on land donated by D. D. Miller.

In 1929, a tornado w'hich swept through the town of Woodville destroyed St. Paul’s Church. The members of the congregation joined Trinity in Washington and Emmanuel in Sperryville. St. Paul’s Church was never rebuilt, and today St. Paul’s Episcopal Cemetery stands on the spot where the church was located.

In 1945, the church began a fund to construct a parish house. After 10 years, the project became a reality w'hen Mrs. Margaret Mason, a member of the congregation of St. Paul’s in Woodville, left the church $20,000, which wras put toward the parish hall project. Stuart Hall was constructed during 1956 and 1957.

It was also during the 1940s that the congregations in Madison County left Bromfield Parish, leaving the parish with just Emmanuel and Trinity Churches. In 1955 the congregation of Emmanuel Church voted to join the Trinity Church.

The Bromfield expansion of the parish hall, for which ground was broken at Easter 1985, is the newest addition to the church. Formal dedication of Bromfield Hall, which was named by and dedicated to the women of Bromfield Parish, was held on Sunday. The Right Reverend Peter James Lee, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, officiated at the ceremony.

The present rector of Trinity Church, the Rev. Jennings Hobson III, has been ministering to the congregation for 13 years. Of the Bromfield addition, and of Trinity Church as a whole, he said, “We are gently growing and continuing our ministry.”
