Miss Carter Moffett,
daughter of Judge and Mrs. W. F. Moffett of Washington, was recently initiated into Alpha Phi Sigma, national honor scholarship fraternity. Membership in Alpha Phi Sigma is decided upon academic excellence and overall service to the college community. Miss Moffett is a junior at Mary Washington College, majoring in political science.
Rappahannock Homemaker Club members and Mends assembled at Chester Gap Thursday evening for the annual Achievement Night program of the county clubs. More than 75 people attended and were welcomed by Mrs. Thomas Leake, president of the Chester Gap Club, and Mrs. Hubert Gilkey, of Chester Gap, who is county chairman, presided over the program. The Amissville Homemakers Club received the award as the Outstanding Club of the Year and also took first place in exhibits. Their display was of pressed flower pictures.

of Virginia has prepared a publication for their Bicentennial project entitled “Education in Virginia Then and Now," showing what education in Virginia was like 200 or 100 years ago.
The Methodist Youth Fellowship is having a bake sale on Saturday, November 20, at Bradford’s Store and at the Washington Methodist Church. The Methodist Youth Fellowship is composed of Willis Chapel, Flint Hill and Washington groups.
