Lovers of traditional music will gather at the Gay Street Theater in Washington Friday, Nov. 21, to hear the music of Nancy and Norman Blake - old-timey music with a classical flair.
Norman has been playing professionally since the age of 16, when he quit school in Rising Fawn, Ga., to play mandolin in a band. In 1969 he moved to Nashville to play guitar and dobro as a member of Johnny Cash’s group. Since then he’s played with Kris Kristofferson, Joan Baez, John Hartford and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
