ARB to meet
The Architectural Review Board will meet today, Thursday, Dec. 18, at 8 p.m. in the courthouse. Interested persons are urged to attend.
Tea and candlelight tour
at The Conyers House
The Conyers House invites the public to attend an elegant Christmas tea and candlelight tour on Sundays, December 21 and 28. Each of the 45 windows in the 18th century four story farmhouse is aglow with a welcoming Christmas light.
The Conyers House, the first and oldest country inn in Rappahannock County, is located on Slate Mills Road at the southern tip of the county.
The cost of the tea and tour is $6.50 per person and the time is from 2 to 5 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling 703-987-8025.
Appreciation service at First Baptist
An appreciation service honoring a senior member will be held at the First Baptist Church Sunday, Dec. 21, at 3 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Sunday School will be held at 10 a.m., followed by worship at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served immediately after the regular service, when the honoree will be named. Paster Wendell Grant and congregation invite the community to come and enjoy a delightful day.
A church conference will be held Friday, Dec. 19, at 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. All members are urged to attend.
Offices to be closed
The Treasurer’s Office, Commissioner of Revenue, General District Court and Registrar’s Office will close at noon Wednesday, Dec. 24. The offices will be closed Dec. 25 and 26.
The Rappahannock National Bank will close at noon Dec. 24 and will be closed Dec. 25. The Clerk’s Office will be closed Dec. 25 and 26 as will the Family Guidance Services. In case of an emergency, clinic staff may be reached by calling 675-3329.
The Farmers & Merchants Bank will close at noon Dec. 24 and will be closed Dec. 25. They will be open until noon Dec. 26. The Social Services Department will be closed Dec. 25. The Rappahannock Library will close at noon Dec! 24 and will be closed the 25th through the 28th. The library will reopen Monday, Dec. 29.
