Let’s hear a round of applause for that much maligned creature - Big Business.

We’re told it’s heartless and uncaring, concerned only with profits. Well, we know better. We know that there’s at least one big business out there with a Christmas spirit.

Potomac Edison continues to play Santa Claus to Rappahannock’s public schools. The power company has already given the schools Apple computers and provided help to the administration on its computerization of records and accounts. Last week, PotEd presented the high school with sets of disks for physics and chemistry classes and promises training for teachers on how to best use the software in the advanced science programs.

This generosity, which comes with no strings attached, shows that the giant utility realizes the students of today are its workers of tomorrow. Potomac Edison knows that its future is tied to their future. It knows that the better our young people are prepared for life, the better that life will be - for all of us.
