Migrant permit
request withdrawn
Alexander Sharp’s application for a special use permit to house seasonal agricultural workers on 33 acres of Mountain Green Farm in Harris Hollow has been withdrawn.
In the interval between Mr. Sharp’s filing and the public hearing scheduled for Dec. 22 by the Board of Zoning Appeals on the request, the Board of Supervisors enacted a new county zoning ordinance. Under its terms, housing for migrant workers is allowed by special exception permit granted by the Board of Supervisors.
Reportedly, Mr. Sharp will refile his application under the new ordinance.
