Christmas
program set
Wakefield School’s Christmas program will take place Friday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 in the school auditorium.
The program will begin with a procession of the lower school chorus followed by readings and carols, a violin and cello quartet and the performance by the seventh graders of an original play “The Angel Squadron,” written by former student Ryan Barnes.
The two students specially chosen to participate in this year’s program are Isabel Ford and Matthew O’Herron, both sophomores. Miss Ford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ford of Woodville, will read Gospel accounts of the Nativity. Matthew, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond O’Herron of Warrenton, will carry the cross leading the procession.
According to school tradition, two students are chosen each year for these honors based on scholarship, citizenship and moral character. The school considers these honors as among its highest awards.
At Wakefield’s Friday morning Christmas assembly, scheduled to begin at 9:45, the foreign language classes will present a program of carols and customs in Greek, Latin, French, Spanish, German and Russian.
“The public is cordially invited to both morning and evening programs,” said Headmaster William Lynn.
