David Chuse, president of the i Rappahannock League for Environ! mental Protection and the Conservation Council of Virginia, was guest ' speaker at the November meeting of the Rappahannock County Garden Club.
Mr. Chuse, who is a fellow Rappahannock County resident, spoke jto the club about the problems of solid waste disposal, the search for a .landfill site in the county, and the Concerns attendant to the search.
Mr. Chuse also addressed the advantages of recycling as an alternative to landfilling garbage. He noted that the recycling of such items as yaper, glass and metals will extend •the life of any landfill considerably, ‘>as well as cut the demand for additional raw materials to produce those items.
