The Heads-Up 4-H Club, with the cooperation of the Rappahannock County Department of Social Services, sponsored Thanksgiving dinner for a needy family in the county. That’s just one of the ways this club pays back the community for the help which the youngsters have received from horse enthusiasts throughout the area.
The Heads-Up Horse and Pony Club has members who range in age from four to 19. Although they are enthusiastic horsemen, most would never have had the opportunity to learn to ride outside the club, according to Brenda Knoll, one of the club’s leaders.
“They are involved in a riding program, but do so on horses donated to the club,” she said. Also, ^Iheleafiei^ and adults who volunteer, their tim6 to instruct the children teach them not only how to ride, but also how to take care of their mounts
