Over years of preparing meals for her family and friends, fried chicken and macaroni salad for 150 reporters from the Washington press corps and luncheons for the President, she has certainly proved she can cook. Now with A Pinch of This she proves she can write about cooking, too.
And with one book too new to have even gathered its first speck of dust on the shelf, the artist (she was a sculptor before arthritis forced her to abandon life-sized carving in wood and stone) is already planning a second. But it won’t be a sequel with all those recipes that the publishers requested. The theme of the next will be more in keeping with another talent Mrs. Kilpatrick is developing, that of playing the violin. “I’m thinking maybe about a romantic novel,” she concluded.
