The dilemma is driving Jo Gorman crazy. “We’ve reached the crisis point. We’re add' e 'aily to the load on our staff. They see teachers, other government employees, getting as much as 10 percent pay raises, and I can give them only 2Vi percent and even that can’t come until Jan. 1. We have a wonderful staff but they’re leaving, and I can’t blame them. They’re under stress, under-paid and over-worked.”

Its executive director sees just one option for the Community Services Center: ‘That’s reduce what we provide to a manageable - albeit inadequate - level of services and strive to keep our doors open until the resources can again meet the demand.”
