Rappahannock students are invited to get into recycling in an artistic way for RALLY'siirst County Recycling Contest... The rules are simple: use any recycled ^ | object - such as plastic milk jugs, egg cartons, aluminum cans, newspaper, plastic containers, or bottles -to create an artistic or functional object. (Nails, tape, glue, and other fastening aids may also be used.)
The contest is divided into two divisions; grades seven through 12 and grades kindergarten through six. Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners in each division, and the deadline for entries is March 1 so there's plenty of time for creativity. Workshop on Alzheimer’s disease
A community education program on Alzheimer's disease and related disorders will be held at the Rappahannock County Public Library on Tuesday, Sept. 27, beginning at 8 p.m. Cosponsored by the advisory council of Family Guidance Services of Rappahannock and the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center, the program will feature speakers from Oak Springs Nursing Home and Shadow Lawn Senior Center, as well as a film.
