Opening at Middle St.
The public is invited to attend the opening of Eva Wine’s show of new paintings and drawings Saturday, Oct. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Middle Street Gallery. The exhibition is called “Tracks” and is based on the marks that remain in snow and mud after a presence, be it human or animal, has passed through. “Tracks” will be on view through October. Gallery hours are Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and by appointment.
Harvest Moon Festival Sept. 25
Celebrate the arrival of autumn at “The Spirit Arts Fair,” an outdoor festival of the psychic, healing and creative arts. There will be food, entertainment, activities for kids and fine arts and crafts, as well as a variety of spiritual practitioners who will talk about their work and help others. The festival will be held at Horseshoe Hills on Rt. 211 west of Sperryville from 11 a.m. until dark. A $2 donation is requested, kids are admitted free. “Bring your talents and instruments for an open mike around 5 p.m.,” said Toni White. For more information, contact Ms. White (675-3120).
'Good Morning Vietnam'
The movie Good Morning Vietnam will play at the Gay Street Theater on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. each evening. The movie stars Robin Williams and Forest Whitaker. Director is Barry Levinson Diner, Tin Men. Robin Williams is at his irreverent best as a military disc jockey whose biting wit and caustic comments make him a hero to the American troops — and a thorn in the side of the military brass. This film is a humorous and thoughtful film that examines the effects of a devastating war on the men who fought it. The movie is rated R. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
Women's Club to meet
The Rappahannock Women’s Club will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Sharon Ferrence near Amissville. All members are urged to attend.
