RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY
THE COUNTY OF RAPPAHANNOCK is seeking to fill the permanent, part-time, contract position of County Attorney. Duties include performing legal services for the Board of Supervisors, County Administrator and other officials and appointed Boards and Commissions as needed.
Responsibilities to include preparing and reviewing ordinances and contracts; advising officials; attending all meetings of the Board of Supervisors and, on occasion, such other Boards and Commissions as may be necessary; participating in legal aspects of negotiations; and serving as the chief legal adviser to the County.
Position requires extensive knowledge of local, state, and Federal laws affecting local government. Land use law expertise helpful and trial experience in the above and/or related matters desired.
Position to be awarded as annual service contract on a set-price retainer for all services (exclusive of litigation).
Salary range, $10,000 - $12,500 annually.
