Artists Forum “Publicizing Yourself,” the constant concern of the small businessman and artist, will be the title of the RAAC Artists’ Forum presentation on Friday, Sept. 30 at Blackwater Homestead in Boston from 7-10 p.m. Participants will learn basic concepts of promotion, publication, design and printing techniques. Dance at Amissville, open house The band Nightfall will play for a dance sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Proper dress is required and persons attending must be 21 years of age. For reservations or additional information call 9374357. The department will hold an open house on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 1-5 p.m. to kick off fire prevention week. There will be information about fire safety, demonstrations and free refreshments. The public is invited. The department will also hold its auction on Saturday, Nov. 5, beginning at 6 p.m.
CED study program On Oct. 3 the Rappahannock Literacy Volunteers will begin a weekly class for residents studying for their General Equivalency Diploma. The meetings will be held at the Rappahannock County Library each Monday from 7-9 p.m. There is no charge for this program. Healing the family workshop “Healing the family in the wise woman way”, a workshop led by Sherry Willis and Kathleen Maier, will be held in Flint Hill on Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The workshop presents parents as the family’s primary healer, while addressing the needs of practitioners and others interested in an in-depth exploration of the Six Steps of Healing as practiced in the Tradition.
