Street on a small knoll overlooking Washington is Mount Prospect, the lovely Victorian-Italianate home of Col. and Mrs. Stewart Willis, built in 1850 and whose exterior has been restored to its original appearance.
West to Rediviva on Rt. 211 and a mile north on Rt. 622 is Spring Hill Farm, the frame home of Aileen and C. Keeton Barnes. Situated on part of the Willis Grant from King George III, the original log home from which the house evolved was probably built as a tenant house for nearby Reality Farm.
Homes will be open on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, Oct. 16 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Block tickets on sale at the Trinity Parish Hall and at the houses are $6.00; tickets to individual homes are $2.50. Block ticket includes tea at Spring Hill Farm.
