To the editor:
Once again, the Rappahannock News has taken the Virginia Department of Transportation at its word, apparently unwilling to do serious investigative reporting of its own.
The point this time is that the News has consistently bought VDOT’s assertion that the value engineering study being disclaimed by VDOT was a “student exercise.” If the News were to contact the Federal Highway Administration in Washington, which happened to oversee this particular value engineering study, it would learn — and could accurately report — that this Route 211 study amounts to the genuine article.
