They are trying to reach out to Indians who have been sun-worshippers since the days of unrecorded time. The language is different, the culture is different, the desires are different.
In the centuries since the arrival of the conquistadore8 these people have been victimized and brutalized by those who claimed they came in the name of God. When the Chastains now say that they can show them the love of that God, the Indians are more than just a little skeptical. So far, the Chastains know they have made one solid convert and hope there are two more.
Persecution is real.
The known convert has lost his job, his friends and his family. The other two defensively hide their tentative faith. The Chastains have had rocks thrown at their car and, due to threats from townspeople, never take the same route into the city twice.
Because of the pressure against Christianity,^he Chastains need a place where they can speak privately to people who are interested in hearing about God and Christ.
