MMl’s results contradict the widely held perception of truckers on I95 as “bad guys” just passing through. About half the drivers interviewed at Dumfries in Virginia and the toll plaza in Maryland gave their destinations as Maryland, D.C., or Virginia.
But even the low figures on through-traffic may be inflated for the purposes of assessing to what degree a now bypass will ease congestion, according to Loudoun Transportation r.ngmeer Dave Gourley.
