Sixty-two volunteers, the backfctone of Hospice of the Rapidan, partially funded by United Way, provided more than 1,482 hours of c^re to terminally ill patients in Orange, Madison, Culpeper and Rappahannock counties according to the 1988 annual report. Volunteer hours increased over 90 percent above 1987 figures. A record 15,084 transportation miles were donated driving patients to doctor’s appointmtents, running errands or taking patients for rides, Tina Weaver, the hospice director reported.
