Arrange eacn ron in a nearc shape on greased baking sheet. Make cuts, 3/4-inch apart, around entire heart, cutting through from outside edge to within 1/2 inch of center.
7. Starting at the top of the heart, turn 3/4-inch sections flat on baking sheet so that cherry spiral shows, yet center is still attached. Overlap sections slightly, working around.tQ other side of top. Adjust as necessary so it still looks like a heart. Repeat with other heart.
8. Cover hearts loosely with a clean cloth and let rise in a warm place, away from drafts, until double in size, about 45 minutes.
9. Arrange oven racks to accommodate 2 baking sheets. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and loaves sound hollow when tapped on top. Cool completely on a wire rack. Makes 12 servings.
Perhaps a heart-shaped pan is not available. Heavenly Heart Cake may be prepared in a square pan and a round pan and then cut to shape. Not only will the heart shape capture the attention of loved ones, but it’s chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Need one say more?

2/3 cup boiling water
1-1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter orf margarine, softened '
2 tsp. vanilla extract 1
2 large eggs f
2 cups unsifted cake flour
1-1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt ’•
3/4 cup buttermilk

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F/ Grease and flour one 8-inch square and one 8-inch round cake pan. In' small bowl, stir together cocoa and ' water until smooth. Set aside.
