It didn’t work.
As we waited at the traffic light to turn off on the country road in downtown Culpeper, the lid suddenly burst open and the goose pushed her neck up. It was like a volcano erupting. The bird must have barged upwards with her strong shoulders.
The trouble started when a motorbike pulled up behind us, and impatient for the light to change green, the driver revved his engine. He was more shocked than the goose. He shot off dow n the center of Main Street at top speed.
