The Department of Forestry is still accepting seedling orders for this spring’s planting. To insure that the species desired is available, we urge you to place your order soon.
These seedlings can be planted for a variety of reasons. Usually they are planted for Christmas trees, improvement of wildlife habitat, timber production and erosion control. The minimum order for most species is 50; -.however, sawtooth oak and black walnut come in bundles of 25.
The Department of Forestry will be glad to examine and/or discuss any planting site you might have. We can offer suggestions on recommended species, seedling spacing, preparing the planting site and the best planting method.
