RICHMOND — The House and Senate budget committees agreed to the governor’s proposal to add $508 million in new revenue appropriations for fiscal 1990. _ In addition, the House Appropriations Committee and the Senate Finance Committee earmarked $70 million for their own programs.
State workers will receive a 3.25 percent pay raise beginning July 1, he committees decided. The raise is mly slightly higher than Gov. Bailes’ recommended 2.5 percent in:rease. The Senate Finance Committee also intends to bring poice and sheriffs’ departments up-tolate, allocating $7 million towrard aw enforcement communications equipment.
