eludes $943 for a 100% full-service warranty for the life of the car, Sheriff Woodward told the supervisors. This car would be part of next year’s budget but was authorized in the current year.
Dr. Marilyn Beck, president of Lord Fairfax Community College, said the college would be requesting $5,368 from Rappahannock County for the next year. The county’s share of the $63,000 General College Board budget would be $565, down from the current year because at 21 students from Rappahannock at the college this year, Rappahannock’s percentage in the expanding college enrollment is down.
The college also anticipates getting General Assembly approval for a $2.7 million library, the LFCC president told the board. The localities served by the college are responsible for the costs of site preparation. Rappahannock’s share of $2,996 is based on percentage of Rappahannock students at the college for the past five years.
In addition, the college will be requesting $1,807 as Rappahannock’s share for a new parking lot. Dr. Beck told the supervisors that she expects the college to cooperate with Rappahannock County High School to offer college courses locally. She also said that she expects by fall the college will be working with REAP (the Rappahannock Education Action Project) to offer a course in child care in the county.
