County Beautification Day

The Rappahannock Anti-Litter League and You (RALLY) will sponsor its annual County Beautification Day on Saturday, April 1. Planned as a cleanup of the most litter-strewn areas of the county, RALLY is encouraging the participation of as many of the county’s residents as possible. T-shirts and refreshments will be provided for all. The rain date is the following Saturday, April 8. For more information about how to get involved, contact litter and recycling coordinator Nina Stamer (675-3810).

Art and craft bazaar

Salem Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad will sponsor its first art and craft bazaar on Saturday, May 13 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the fire hall in Griffinsburg, Route 522. The organization is seeking crafters. Anyone interested should contact Dorothy Beck at 547-3957. Deadline for reservation is May 1.

Iranian musician at Gay St.

Mohammed Raisa Lotfi, a new-age classical composer, musician and arranger, will appear at the Gay Street Theater on Friday, March 10 for a program of authentic Iranian music, presented by RAAC. Tickets for this special performance will be sold only at the door, at $3 for children, $5 for adults. The performance begins at 8 p.m.

Post 1150 to meet

The Rappahannock County Post 1150 will meet on Tuesday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW in Sperryville.
