The Middle Street Gallery’s third annual Gallery Artists and Friends Show, which opened Mar. 4, is a visual feast in an agreeably intimate setting.
At the gallery’s entrance, Linda Ramer’s multicolored cow, rendered larger than life in concrete and sporting a sunset on one recumbent side with galaxies on the other, welcomes visitors.
The massive sculpture is just one of many works on display at the exhibit, which runs through Mar. 26 and features pieces by 10 of the gallery’s exhibiting members and 30 of their friends.
“The exhibiting members range from Warrenton to Fredericksburg to Front Royal — it’s a wide range — and we have an honorary member from Moscow, who has exhibited every year at the show,” said Laurie Marshall, president of the gallery’s board and a member whose painting, “The Eye is the Scout of the Heart,”
