CPR class to begin
Anpssville Volynteer Fire Department will be holding a public CPR class on March 16, 21 and 23, beginning at 7 p.m. at the fire hall. To pre-register call the station at 937-5125.
Contest deadline
The deadline for entries in the county-wide Recyclable Art Contest has been extended until Thursday, April 13, when they may be delivered to the Middle Street Gallery from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Winners in the student division will be announced at the opening of the Recycled Art Show on Sunday, April 16 at the gallery. Trash into art
The Middle Street Gallery and the Child Care and Learning Center will sponsor a family art workshop, using recyclable garbage. It will be held on Saturday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at CCLC. Artist Laurie Marshall will supply technical assistance, participants are urged to BYOT (bring your own trash). The cost is $5 per child, $10 per adult, with a maximum of $15 per family. Children may submit their creations to the Recycled Art Contest, and adults may exhibit their works at the gallery’s Recycled Art Show. For information, or to register, call 675-3267 or 675-3810.
Scrap benefits class trip
The Rappahannock County Elementary School and RALLY urge county residents to continue to save their aluminum beverage cans. Although the county recycling day has been suspended temporarily, .on Saturday, April 1, during County Beautification Day, cans and other aluminum (please bag separately) will be collected from 9:3011:30 a.m. at the Rec Center to benefit the seventh-grade Class of 1990’s trip to Williamsburg. Drivers will also be needed to transport the aluminum to Front Royal after the drive is completed.
