Kathryn Heflin of Amissville would like to announce the engagement of her daughter, Wanda, to Morris Peters, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kyle M. Peters Jr. of Rixeyville. Heflin is also the daughter of the late James J. Heflin, Jr. . Heflin is employed with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in Warrenton. Peters is self employed.

An April wedding is planned.

Amissville

news notes

Between 50 and 60 people attended the Jenkins Family Reunion on Sunday, Aug. 13 at Rappahannock County Park. Family members came from Richmond, Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Middleburg, Upperville, Berryville, West Virginia, Maryland, and the adjacent communities of Front Royal, Luray and Culpeper.

Everybody, according to Mrs. Anna Fincham enjoyed the food and fellowship of the day.

Another Jenkins family reunion is planned for the summer of 1991.

The Amissville Ruritan Club is planning an auction for Saturday, Aug. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Amissville fire hall. Proceeds will benefit the Ruritans community building. Donations are requested.
