Seminar on cost-share
There will be a seminar on the many cost-share programs available through the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District, ASCS, the and the Virginia Department of Forestry. Representatives from those three agencies, plus the Virginia Division of Soil and Water Conservation and the Virginia Extension Service will be at at the meeting with information about the variety of cost-share programs available, how they might meet particular needs, and to answer questions. The meeting is Monday, Dec. 11, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Elementary School auditorium.
County taxes now past due All county taxes not paid by Dec. 5 are now subject to a 10 percent late penalty. Treasurer Frances Foster reminds residents that all personal property and real estate taxes are due and payable immediately. All taxes not paid on or before Dec. 5 will be subject to a 10 percent penalty. If you have not received a tax bill, please call the Treasurer's Office (675-3334). The office is open 8:30 a.m. to 43:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Slaughter’s rep here Dec. 11
Jane Clatterbuck, the district representative for Seventh District Congressman D. French Slaughter Jr., will visit Rappahannock County on Monday, Dec. 11. Mrs. Clatterbuck will be at the courthouse from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Residents who need assistance or have problems with Federal agencies are invited to come and speak with Mrs. Clatterbuck, as well as anyone with comments or opinions on^/natters under consideration by the U.S. Congress, Residents may speak privately with Mrs. Clatterbuck by contacting the Congressman's Culpeper office, located aM2T W.
