Spaghetti dinner Dec. 14
The Rappahannock County Elementary School will hold its annual spaghetti dinner,5 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14.. Cost is $6 adults, all you can eat; $5 adults, single serving; $3 children under 10. Following the dinner will be the RCES winter music program, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the seventh grade’s trip to Williamsburg. For more information, contact Arthur Neufeld at 987-8259, days; or 675-3728, evenings.
Breakfast in Washington Dec. 9
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will hold an all-youcan-eat breakfast, 7 a.m.-ll a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, at the fire hal. The buffet menu will include scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage and gravy, bacon, potatoes and fried apples, with juice, coffee and milk. Santa Claus will be there to greet the kids, and all diners will receive a coupon good for $2 off any Christmas tree at Moose Hill Farm in Slate Mills. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children, available at the door or in advance from any fire department member.
Citrus pickup
RCHS Music Boosters’ citrus pickup will be held, 3 p.m.-5 p.m. only, Tuesday, Dec. 12 and Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the Rappahannock Farmers Co-op. The Booster Club would like to thank everyone for their support of this fundraiser.
Democratic caucus meeting
The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will caucus at noon on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the courthouse in Washington, to elect members for a two-year term. All Democrats are welcome.
Library closings
The library will be closed the week of Dec. 24. It will reopen Jan. 2, 1990, for regular hours. Persons wishing to return books during the holidays may leave them in the brown mailbox facing the driveway beside the building.
