RICHMOND — The Virginia State Police today announced plans to intensify their efforts from Dec. 8 through Dec. 16 to discourage drinking and driving.
National Drunk and Drugged Driving Awareness Week is Dec. 1016, but the State Police will begin their concentrated statewide effort at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8. The early start on Dec. 8 is known as “D-Day” and is a part of Operation CARE, a state-sponsored national effort to reduce motor vehicle crashes, injuries and fatalities.
