Tax changes for seniors

The 1991 General Assembly retroactively changed the computation of the age subtraction for a limited number of taxpayers age 62 and older.

The change only applies to those taxpayers who receive Social Security' and/or Tier 1 Railroad Retirement Act benefits and who are ages 62-64 with federal adjusted gross income of less than $6,000 or ages 65 and over with federal adjusted gross income of less than $12,000.
