Patrick O’Meara won for chemistry in the senior division. He studied the effect of heat on growing rock candy crystals in a super saturated solution. Keith Switzer, Brian Wayland and John Mallory were runners-up.

In the category for Earth science or ecology, Grace Reynolds was the local winner with a project of making paper by recycling other paper. Lisa Manwaring was runner-up.

Susan Estes was the local winner in life science. Her project involved testing the effects of pesticides on fruit flies and on sod samples the pesticides were supposed to protect. Amy Kellert won runnerup.
