Beauty pageant planned
The annual beauty pageant sponsored by the Sperryville Rescue Squad will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Rappahannock High School. Practice will be Friday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m. and will include those between the ages of two and 21. For more information call Ann Markham at 987-3122 or Nancy Leake at 987-8971.
All-you-can-eat breakfast
Have breakfast with the Easter Bunny, 7 a.m.-ll a.m. on Saturday, March 30 at the Washington Fire Department. The cost is $3 for children and $6 for adults.
The meal will be all-you-can-eat of sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, eggs, pancakes, hash browns, fried apples, milk, coffee, tea, juice and hot chocolate. There will also be a bake sale and a free children’s Easter pgg hunt at 11:30 a.m.
'The Black Cauldron' at Theater
The feature attraction this weekend at the Gay Street Theater 'will be “The Black Cauldron” on Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m. This is Distogy’s most expensive and ambitious animated feature to date - and a memorable tale about a young boy who searches for the powerful black cauldron before it falls into the powerful hands of the evil Homed King. The movie is rated G.
Cemetery cleanup planned
A cleanup day for the First Baptist Church cemetery is planned for Saturday, March 16 beginning at 10 a.m. Anyone willing to help or who has tools is urged to attend if weather permits. For more information, call David Clanagan (987-8937) or Eunice Lewis (675-3612).
Easter egg hunt
The Washington Baptist Church will host an Easter egg hunt for all community children ages 2-10 years old on Saturday, March 23 from 10-11 a.m. Each participant is asked to bring one dozen dyed eggs. The hunt promises to provide prizes, refreshments and lots of fun.
