Bush has
failed U.S.
To the Editor:
George Bush has failed America with his policies in the Persian Gulf region and in whipping America’s consciousness up into an approval of war for settling differences. The Urantia Book, the fifth epochal revelation of our planet, says that war “is the natural state and heritage of evolving man; peace is the social yardstick measuring civilization’s advancement.”
It also states that war “is an animalistic reaction to misunderstandings and irritations; peace attends upon the civilized solution of all such problems and difficulties.”
War is never an answer - it is an admission of failure. The truth is that we have all failed. George Bush has failed, those who supported his war have failed, and the protesters who hoped to prevent it or end it have failed. But perhaps by putting down our flags — whether our purpose had been to wave them or to burn them - and admitting this truth to ourselves we can become one people again, rather than a coalition of power groups, and the “rights” versus the “wrongs.”
