Gabrielle Lee has joined the staff of the Rappahannock News as a staff intern. Her roles at the paper involve taking pictures, writing short articles and helping edit copy.
Miss Lee attended Rappahannock Elementary for grades 3-7 then went on to Wakefield and graduated in the class of 1989. At Wakefield she became interested in journalism where she participated on the yearbook and the literary magazine.
She has just finished her second year at the University of South Carolina, where she is currently studying journalism.
Miss Lee lives in Flint Hill with her parents, Jon and Margaret Lee.
Mr. Lee is the sales manager for Kramer and Eiland, Inc. in Washington and Mrs. Lee teaches fifth grade at Rappahannock Elementary.
Miss Lee's older sister, Britney Lee, resides in Manassas, where she teaches first grade.
Pick-up soccer games
Pick-up soccer games have been organized twice a week at the Rappahannock High soccer field in Sperryville. Players of all ages and both genders are welcome at the games, 6 p.m. Wednesdays and 4 p.m. Sundays through the summer.
Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult family member.
