County Administrator John McCarthy said he would bring a schedule of fees to the supervisors at their June 24 meeting to adopt the budget.
He estimated that the new fee schedule will bring in an additional $6,000 and still leave the fees charged in Rappahannock below those charged in Fauquier and Warren counties.
Hampton District representative Mike Massie asked if the county could cut back building inspector Richard Burke’s hours to three days a week from the current four instead of increasing fees.
Mr. McCarthy said that doing so would take time from the hours Mr. Burke now spends receiving training.
