Investigators are looking into charges by a 17-year-old Warren County girl that she was raped and sodomized on Route 639 in Amissville just after midnight May 25, according to Sheriff John Henry Woodward.

Investigators are interviewing the girl and a suspect, described as a Page County man. No other details are available, and no charges have been filed, said the sheriff.

• Daniel Lloyd Bright, 19, of Sperryville, was charged with possession of marijuana after consenting to a search of his vehicle by State Trooper R.E. Keen at 5:40 p.m. May 30 on U.S. 522, two miles south of Route 231, according to Sgt. D.S. Adams of the State Police.

Bright was stopped for speeding, then arrested when suspected marijuana was found in his car, said Sgt. Adams. He was charged with possession of marijuana and a speeding offense, said Sgt. Adams.

• State Police are investigating the theft of a 1982 Ford Escort from the carnival grounds in Sperryville over the weekend, said Sgt. Adams.
