In nominating Mr. Lee for another term, Hampton District representative Mike Massie said, “I think he has done a fine job in the four years he’s been on the board. He chaperoned the ski trip. I’m pleased and believe he should have another four years.”
Chairman Hubert Gilkey, who nominated Mr. Nichols, said, “Mr. Nichols has done an excellent job too. I think all the School Board members have done excellent jobs.”
In asking for the public hearing on June 24 for the Piedmont District representative, Mr. Estes said Mrs. Butler “has done a very able job.”
Only persons nominated at these advertised public hearings may be appointed to serve on the School Board, and the supervisors must wait at least seven days after the public hearings before making the appointment.
