• Welcomed new member John McCarthy, appointed by the Board of Supervisors just the night before. Mr. McCarthy, the county administrator, is a resident of Washington.
• Voted unanimously to act as a sign-up spot for SHARE, the new program that allows county residents to trade community service for low-cost food staples.
• Decided to delay the building’s official opening until September because the board was concerned too many people may be vacationing in July, and a later date will give them more time to get settled in.
