• A chainsaw was stolen from a Sperryville farm last week, according to Sheriff Woodward.
Moody Aylor reported at noon on May 29 that a Homelite chainsaw was taken from Old Mills Stables, said the sheriff. The investigation is continuing.
• Sheriff Woodward issued a warning for residents of the town of Washington to lock their vehicles, as there has been another spate of thefts in town.
He said town residents should “keep their eyes open and lock their cars.” There has previously been a problem with car thefts in Washington, he said.
• Two more defendants in the cocaine distribution conspiracy case of Kenny Allison, 35, of Marshall, were given reduced sentences in U.S. District Court in Alexandria last week.
Allison’s brother, Jerry Douglas Allison, had his sentence reduced from 10 years to 18 months by Judge Claude M. Hilton. Jerry Allison entered a pre-indictment sealed plea with the court and cooperated with the investigation into the cocaine ring.
Also, David Moore of Upperville had his sentenced reduced from 10 years to 18 months by Judge James Cacheris last Friday. Moore also cooperated with the investigation.
