Lena Carroll
Lena Sirois Carroll, 76, of Salem, Mass., a dietician for over 17 years at North Shore Children’s Hospital in Salem before retiring 11 years ago, died suddenly at her home Tuesday evening, May 21.
A lifelong resident of Salem, she was the daughter of the late Elziar and Adele Bernier Sirois.
She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Carroll and is survived by two sons, Donald F. Carroll of Sperryville and Philip Carroll of Salem; two daughters, Lucille Martel of Cumberland, R.I. and Joan Carroll of Salem; one brother, Donald Sirois of Lynn; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral was held Friday, May 24 from the Berube-& Sons Funeral Home followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church.
Mary McNeil
Mrs. Mary E. Cleveland McNeil of Silver Spring, Md., died Tuesday, May 28 at the Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Md.
She was the daughter of the late Newton W. Dennis and Jennie Timbers Dennis. She was bom in Woodville and was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Woodville.
Survivors include one son, Leroy Cleveland Jr.; one sister, Sadie D. Hardy; two brothers, Newton R. Dennis and Johnnie W. Dennis Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Vivian B. Cleveland; two grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; three sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 1 at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Woodville. The Rev. George 0. Dean, pastor officiated.
