He has been equally effective with the educational program at Rappahannock Elementary. His recognition of outstanding student achievement via prominent display of the Honor Roll and his spearheading of the two very successful annual science fairs are only two of his noteworthy accomplishments.
Although he resides in Charlottesville, his contributions made him a real part of our community, and he will be sorely missed at Rappahannock Elementary. We wish Mr. Chesshir’s replacement, David Smith, much happiness and success in the large shoes he must fill.
Parental thanks also go to Assistant Principal Raye Tupper, who always has a sympathetic ear and who admirably represented the public schools at a Mothering Co-op forum recently.
School psychologist Cindy Graham and guidance counselor Candace Lamma are skilled and willing helpers.
Their efforts are also appreciated.
Of course, the indispensable “Mom” at Rappahannock Elementary is Martha Kidwell, who cheerfully answers the phones, manages the office, and gives our kids whatever tender loving care they need, whether it be a Band-aid, a call home, or a tardy slip.
Patricia Jenkins and her cafeteria staff do a great job in a steamy kitchen providing hot nutritious meals to a lot of picky eaters. Mrs. Jenkins has helped generously whenever a PTO or Soccer League function has required use of the kitchen.
The custodial staff has a big job to do, and they keep the building tidy and attractive.
