The board also voted to cut $406 for the Northern Virginia Health Systems Agency, $250 requested by the Hospice of the Rapidan, $1,000 * for the Society for Abused Families, $584 for public television station WVPT, $8,968 for the FORE workshop, and $785 from Rappahannock Legal Services.
Those agencies have been requesting funding from the county for years, and their requests have always been cut from the county budget.
The board voted to increase the budget for animal warden Ray Pullen by spending up to $8,000 for a used four-wheel-drive pickup truck for his use. Currently the county is reimbursing him for the mileage he puts on his own truck. The amount for mileage was cut by $1,400.
A total of $2,328 was cut from the budget for health insurance for the landfill operator. He has never taken the offered health insurance.
A total of $3,644 was cut from the budget for a contribution to Planning District 9 for the splid waste
