At the regular monthly meeting Col. E.P. Luke reported on the progress of the Board of Assessors. He said they have completed work in Wakefield District and part of Jackson District.
He said they were trying to factor in an adjustment to property values for those properties with VEPCO power lines crossing their land. He said the landowners could use the land under the power line for pasture or hay or for Christmas tree growing, but had to get a permit from VEPCO for a road or for any underground line and could not build under the lines.
