To the Editor:
I am a senior at Rappahannock County High School and I ride the school bus everyday. My truck is up for sale due to mechanical problems, so I have to ride the school bus for the remaining part of the year.
My bus driver, Lois Bailey, greets me every morning with a warm hello. Sometimes I sit and watch her as she is driving, and start thinking about the purpose of her job.
She and all the other bus drivers employed by Rappahannock County drive their school buses 180 days a year and try to keep peacefulness and order over their students. It is much harder than most people can imagine. I’m writing this to let everyone know that school bus drivers don’t always get the credit that they so much deserve.
Not very many people realize what a bus driver has to put up with while driving a bus. So, I just wanted to let each and every bus driver know that you’re doing a great job.
My special gratitude goes out to Rosie Wharton, Christine Timbers, Dale Grimsley, Ruth Young and Robert Dennis.
